Who knew that Idiocracy was prophetic?

I think the creator may have had a sense that it could be. Creative ideas from artists do not come out of nowhere. They are borne out of seeing the current, mix with the history and then extrapolated into what could happen in the future.

How did 1984, Animal House, Brave New World, The Trial, Clockwork Orange and so many other great writings come about if not through vision of what man is capable of doing before it is done?

I happen to think artists have always been the truth and fortune tellers. Being an artist (and observer…they go hand in hand) has given me a great feel for all the arts.

And that is why I also think arts programs and liberal arts educations are the first to get cut and eliminated. Also why many times artists (writers, fine artists, musicians, etc.) are the first to be gathered up by dictators. They need to shut them up for reasons.

You want to control people…make them do what you want…shut up the artists. And there are many ways that can happen and does. I think we do it in America. The Republicans seem to have an inclination to do it.
