I sort of disagree. The EC not voting Trump in would be unprecedented. It would show what a total mess it was having Trump involved and people looking out for America’s true interest had to save our butts on a technicality.

Sure it might put Pence in, but he would still be a Trump person and have to stand up to the fact he only got in because everyone screwed up and the Republicans allowed it.

In other words, the Republicans would have to own the EC doing something that has never been done. Trump mess would cover all the people involved for getting him int office. All the voters, the media, all the Republican pols would all be part of doing something seen as a real screw-up that it came to the EC voiding it.

Pence can’t be put in by the Electoral College. Only those who won electoral votes can (the only other choice being Clinton).
