My position on abortion is somewhat mixed.

I believe people should make smart choices about when and when NOT to have children.

I believe in improving sex education in schools and increasing availability of contraceptives.

I believe terminating a pregnancy is a very personal and very difficult choice that no one should be attacked or insulted or maligned over.

I appreciate women who choose adoption over termination where circumstances allow.

I think hardcore pro-lifers should work harder at looking after babies and children who are born rather than being obsessively focused on fetuses.

I believe that God values all life and gives us the freedom to make decisions about our lives.

But ultimately, I believe that at the end of the day a woman has the choice over what happens with her body.

Nobody would bat an eye if I put a bullet in the head of a guy coming at me with a gun in order to save my own life. That’s exactly what happens when a pregnancy needs to be terminated because the mother is at risk. Do people really think that women can just make this choice easily? That they are happy to sacrifice their child so they can live? If so, that’s a really fucked up mentality.

It’s no secret that outlawing abortion won’t make it go away, it will simply force it into unlicensed clinics, back offices and hotel rooms with coat hangers at further risk to women.

I’d like to see abortions performed as little as necessary but I recognize that sometimes they are unavoidable.

Can you present your evidence that god values all human life? Use examples from our natural world if you can. Quoting some book isn’t really evidence unless it’s assertions can be seen in the real world.
