But tax cuts are popular, and the one thing the GOP loves to do even if it puts us way in debt. The GOP cuts taxes and spent billions in unfunded programs, but suddenly, they’ve seen the light and can’t support extending unemployment.

Tax cuts are very popular. They are popular, because history shows time and time again, that every time they are enacted, tax revenue goes way up. Business use that money to expand and hire. This gives more people paychecks to spend and bolsters the economy.
Should we expect folks on unemployment to double their pending at a time like this? Of course not, they cannot afford it. Works the same for the government. We have a deficit that is impossible to get ones mind around at this point. What happens when the economy keeps going south, they keep raising taxes to get more money, and this closes businesses. More folks out of work. The pool of money to help gets smaller and smaller. What happens when there are not enough working folks to pay enough tax to support those who are not working? Like it or not, that is where we are heading. And, I say this as someone whose husband has been laid off for the better part of 3 years. He was just laid off again last week. The government tax and spend mentality must stop. It will destroy all of us if it keeps up at it’s current pace.
