When I worked in journalism a headline had at least THREE sets of eyes on it before publication, if not more.

So yes, they fixed it but it’s still inexcusable that it wasn’t caught and corrected to begin with.

I’m right there with you! I kind of feel bad for Grace Segers, who wrote the story but who almost certainly didn’t write the headline.
