I’m saying he’s engaging in reckless speech at a time when actual physically violent attacks are being carried out. And that for all his claims to be trying to quell the atmosphere, he’s lying, and inflaming it as well.

You can say it’s ironic if you like. I’m no fan of people acting this way. But I do very much think that liberals, pundits and politicians alike, would much rather talk about stuff like this than actual issues. There’s a reason for that.

That’s a false dichotomy. They don’t have to choose between talking about this or talking about issues.
