My 45th high school reunion comes up next year. I’ve never attended but I’ve had friends send pictures and gave me the latest scoops. Seems that the class brain who got a scholarship to Princeton flunked out in his first semester, then started taking a lot of LSD and wound up in an assisted living facility. The Big Jock has been divorced several times and is up to his neck in child support and alimony payments. The Cheerleader Captain has multiple divorces that left her fondling the grape in mass quantities. The football players who were the pampered puppies foud out that their lives peaked at 18 and they’ve gone downhill ever since. And it’s shocking to me to realize that of the 365 in my graduating class, 2/3 have passed away…and AIDS took a large chunk of the boy’s lives…

My 45th is this year and the class is holding a get-together in September. I haven’t gone to any of them since my 5th. Probably not going to this one either. Never part of the big group…something to do with being from the wrong part of town.
