Calling the WTC site “Ground Zero” has always bothered me.

It is what it is. The good news, as Lawhawk has pointed out, is that the construction of the Freedom Tower is now well underway. As it rises, the site will look less like a hole in the ground and more like the commercial high-rise space it should be.
