After looking at the tsunami of stupid that is #TGDN—the endlessly retweeted Hitler photoshops, the fake quotes, the whackjob conspiracies, they really do believe that Obama is Teh Stan.

Myself, I cope by taking a deep breath and remembering they’re “only” the 27%. They can’t be ignored, as another 20% or so listens to them. Worse, some of them are elected officials at local, state, and federal levels.

But they’re still a minority and this is still a democracy, and even if their wishes for civil war came true, well,

The south may rise again, but if it does it’ll get shot in the head like any other zombie.
