Of course that’s exactly what’s being proposed in California and New York. In order to get cooperation the owners of previously registered assault weapons were told that their rifles would be grandfathered in. The NY governor has flat out said that confiscation “could be an option,” and California Democrats have now introduced a bill that will authorize confiscation of all the previously registered assault weapons.

It would be nice of liberal gun control advocates weren’t going out of their way to give credence to the NRA’s rhetoric, but as it stands now they’re actively legitimizing it.

So their desire to own any gun they can get their mitts on runs up against states rights. The unstoppable force against the immovable object.
