Just watching “QI” the other day - a great British TV quiz show - and it seems that her official residence (as in her mailing address) is St James’ Palace and not Buckingham, Windsor or Balmoral.

Isn’t that just formality, though? I thought that a lot of the business of being a royal is just keeping the traditions on the paper.

In practice, I thought Elizabeth spent most of her time in Buckingham, though they used to go up to Scotland a lot.
