“Europe needs to get a handle on immigration” can be interpreted in many ways, and yes, it has gotten out of hand just due to the sheer numbers, over a million refugees in Germany alone over the past three years.

And Germany let itself be used by other European nations who refused to take in refugees in any large numbers. They would be fully justified in insisting on an European quota system based on population and/or share of GDP, which would still leave Germany with the largest share but not with the overwhelming numbers that it has now.

Hillary is going to be speak when asked. She has that right and the career to go with it.

The problem is she can so easily be taken to task when she speaks about political theories. To me that is all she was doing, discussing how you position for a political fight against fascist thinking and whether halting immigration is good until you get your own people back under control and into allowing it.

That is a huge problem in today’s politics. There can be no discussion. I’m not going to blame both sides. To me it is clear conservatives are the rock that won’t budge. The media just makes it into both sides because it is easy and they can use nothing gets done as proof.

Add that atmosphere to anything Hillary says and it is going to be bad.

And note the use of the word “centrist” politics in the piece. That alone is a dangerous word in today’s politics, but it is the path to getting back to normal.
