Oh, absolutely. I just think they’ll be lost without him. He’s a nexus for all the hate and stupidity and craziness. He focuses it. But to work its sick magic, he has to be there appointing Cuccinellis and Kobachs to important posts, and Pence won’t be able to scare the Senate GOP caucus into confirming that sort of nominee, and he won’t scare them into ignoring how many unconfirmed people are running the place.

I mean, if he’s not in jail he might still do rallies and appearances on Fox News, but the whole “I’m in charge, fuck your feelings, fuck the law, fuck everybody” thing doesn’t work if he’s not actually in charge.

The problem here is that Trump can’t be unique in his ability to focus the GOP’s fascist urges into a corrupternment — every GOP politician out there thinking of the presidency is studying Trump’s filthy winning formula very carefully.
