The Repub “defense” is wholly dependent upon the idea that if Hunter Biden took a single dollar from Burisma for less than legal reasons, then Trump’s attempts to extort Zelensky are somehow “justified.” And they believe that they can achieve that by getting the Bidens to sit before the Senate and agree that Hunter was hired for political reasons.

like i said:
- abuse of power
- obstruction of congress

the bidens neither witnessed nor participated in either of those things
they have no knowledge, firsthand or otherwise about these events

if trump wants to ‘justify’ what happened, then he has to have the people involved in it testify to what they did and why. you provide the testimony, contemporaneous documentation and paper trail of the events that prove you were justified. (cant be done, i know)

if they had ‘proof’ of what ‘the bidens’ did, then they could present that because they’d already ahve it. they would have used it to document what they were doing at the time.

they cant. because they dont.

they wont get there using them as witnesses.

but then you’re still stuck with obstruction of congress
