California is a big state, and our numbers are dropping by a lot (finally! and let’s hope the Labor Day holiday doesn’t set us back too much) — last week we were around/over 5,000 new cases per day, yesterday about 3,000, today 2,600.

That’s not dropping, that’s the holiday weekend eating testing and reporting. Everyone is at lows right now, it’ll bounce back.

I’d agree that numbers have spent a few weeks coming down off July peaks. The question is what happens with school reopenings - we’re at the point where I’d expect that to kick in though it would be in stages as first the kids spread it and then the families get it…
