There’s a local Northern Virginia company called “The Geese Police” with the motto “When you need to get the flock out”.

The business park I worked at some years ago contracted with them to try and save the landscaping from the Canada Geese ‘infestation’.

The owner would drive up and release two border collies. The border collies would start circling the flock; Trying to herd the geese.

The geese would, of course, simply fly away.

I do not think I have ever seen a more disappointed couple of puppers.

Still recall the time years ago when I was walking the dog (who had just returned from the groomer) next to a pond filled with Canadian geese. Before I could react, he had lunged into the pond to get one (practically dislocating my shoulder!) — and immediately jumped out because there was little he hated more than being in water. He wanted a goose but not that much!
