First off, no. I don’t cut people being racist slack. That’s part of my life is over, y’know, with Trump getting elected.
I think my problem is that I have a hard time seeing it in a vacuum. He obviously at the time thought it was okay. Maybe if we stop excusing people for being too young, or too old, or too rural, or too whatever, there would be far fewer instances of people like Carl Paladino.
But no, I was not advocating her being confrontational. I am impressed by her conduct, but I think it would have been better for her not to have further contact, or to accept a hug.
And this is so many more brain cycles than I expected to use today, but I’m waiting for my wife to finish making cupcakes so we can go to bed.
