It’s on Adult Swim, which actually is a separate entity from Cartoon Network, though I doubt a lot of people care about the distinction since it runs the night shift on the channel.

Yup, like Nick at Nite originally was for Nickelodeon. (People forget that Nickelodeon was not originally a 24/7 service; the night hours in the early 1980s were shared with ABC-Hearst’s ARTS, antecedent of today’s A&E.)

With Cartoon Network, it was the other way around. Originally 24 hours, the popularity of Space Ghost: Coast to Coast and other mature cartoons (Sealab 2020 and Aqua Teen Hunger Force) late at night resulted in Adult Swim as an overnight block. That start time has creeped up over the years… from midnight, to 10pm, to 9pm and now at 8pm.
