Found a great Lovecraft universe story awhile back called “A Colder War”…

Charlie Stross. His “Laundry” series also plays around the edges as it’s essentially a modern day where the Lovecraftian universe is lurking in the background. The various novels in the series are homages to various types of novels as well and are generally well done.
