I was reading an article about them on Splinter or Jezebel, some sort of Gawker family site. To a person, the adherents that were interviewed all admitted to being turned into pariahs by family and friends.

I’ll be straight-up honest, I thought “Good”. It may not come across here but I really try to be as empathetic as possible to be people, particularly ones who get sucked into this kind of stuff. But the QAnon stuff? Fuck them. Trump is a secret superhero fighting a pedophile HRC? JFK Jr. is still alive????

This shit is patently absurd at immediate first glance. I’m saving my empathy for those who deserve it.
