Could just be as simple as like preferring like. I certainly wouldn’t want to date a young earth creationist and would have a prejudice against the mental outlook of anyone like that.

Divorce rates are a tricky metric, because they do not account for cohabitation. Religious people would tend not to “live in sin”.

Atheism has long been associated with Communism and amorality and those prejudices are hard to get rid of.
