I find this American church habit of praying before every single event very odd. What exactly are they praying for? Please God, don’t let my son get a concussion. Please God, let us win! Please God, smite the opposing team with fire and brimstone.

FTM I am puzzled why we need to sing the national anthem before sportsball games. It’s like going to sportsball is some kind of patriotic activity.

BTW “Play ball!” is the last line of the national anthem. Francis Scott Key put it in there. Many people don’t know that.
