Well, there’s only one problem with that. The government that issued those bonds a century ago isn’t in China anymore.

It’s in Taiwan.

The article says that Mnuchin and Wilbur Ross have actually met with speculators about this. I suspect that these idiots have no idea that the KMT and the Republic of China still exist.
