I admit to perhaps being a bit of an old cold-warrior; I’d immediately bring Ukraine and Finland into NATO, then tell the Russians to go suck it.

That being said - and admittedly, perhaps not the most practical solution - another way around is through full-on economic warfare against Russia. Again, not easy, but not impossible. The ruble is crashing as we speak in overnight markets. Even though it would be painful for the EU, perhaps a total freeze-out of Russia from European markets, especially the financial markets, as well as all-out seizure of all Russian financial assets - mind you, this is if that missile came from Russia proper.

Bring Russia to it’s damned knees. Reduce them to penury.

Problem is, Russia’s been acting crazy enough as it is. I don’t particularly want to know what a Russia on its knees is willing to do to get off of them.

Russians have always struck me as the “I’d rather die on my feet than live on my knees” type; that seems to throw a monkey wrench into any scenario like what Dr. Lizardo put out there.
