These companies also probably don’t want their new hires dragging them into Mueller’s probe, even if only by association. Then there’s the rank dysfunction and backbiting. If the goal is to hire people with connections you want some assurance that even absent Trump those connections will be positive, and none of these people really seem to like each other even a little bit. The entire GOP establishment is in a forced marriage with Trump and his administration, and while they’re all smiling and putting on a show of unity in public, in private they’re busy crafting punji sticks and smearing them with feces.
