I played mellophone in marching band, french horn in concert band, and flugelhorn and trumpet in jazz band. Didn’t even pick up guitar until a year or so out of high school. I wanted to sing also and that was so hard to do playing the trumpet.

I know he has fallen out of favor, but this is one of my favorite Woody Allen gags:
