Everyone needs to understand that “putting up for adoption” is a feel-good shorthand for the reality, which would be dumping massive numbers of children into an already over-stressed system in which there are not enough adoptive families, not enough foster families, not enough caseworkers. The “conservative” solution for this will be for-profit orphanages, where the defenseless tenants will be at the mercy of the the worst kind of predators who take the job not for the low pay but for opportunity.
