Skeptics are kind of morons.

People are kind of morons. The alternatives to skepticism are worse. It’s kind of like democracy, “the worst system except for all the others.” Skepticism takes more work and gives less comfort than say, believing your priest, but unless your priest is a lot wiser than most, it leads to ridiculous imbalances and loss of potential.

The fictional character who said “When people stop believing in God, they don’t believe in nothing — they believe in anything” was not spouting wisdom in my opinion.
