I think the key factor is being able to differentiate between those who are ignorant in the traditional sense of the word (e.g. don’t know gay people personally, brainwashed by wingnut family/fox), and those who are willfully ignorant (e.g. the gaslighting jerks who’ll repeat the same damn lie even if it’s been debunked right in front of their face).

The former are reachable, the latter are not.

Plus, it really would be nice if some people could believe some things before they see them (we used to call that faith).
