Trump has created a personality cult like I’ve never seen before in American politics. People loved FDR and Reagan but nothing like this. Now there is good and bad to that. The good news? When Trump’s gone. That really fucks the GOP coalition a bit but it’s also really bad because of what Trump has brought to the political dialogue through his threats, bullying, belittling, etc. He won’t go out easily. I can’t see him taking a defeat well. That’s why he needs to be beaten with a landslide. I don’t care if you live in the brightest blue county. Don’t vote Green or third party. Make every vote for the Democrat count. That’ll be one less vote he can brag about.

I think there is one simple take on why there is that Trump personality cult.

After our first Black president and a woman candidate that almost won, Trump may just be the last of the Real White Men­™ to run for office as seen and understood by the older folks, the White men (without college) and White women who buy into all that old “White Power” thinking.

In other words, Obama and Clinton scared the fuck out of them and Donnie was their savior…for now. They really seem to not want anyone but an old White man to be in the office.

That is why taking Donnie away is going to be very difficult for them. There will be a lot of acting out.
