Conservatives like Erik see the erosion of traditional gender norms as so personally threatening that they conflate that perception with some undefined harm to the child. When in fact it is the shame and punishment involved in the enforcement of conformity that he advocates for which actually results in the death of so many trans and non-binary kids.
