What happened was, even though no women were allowed on the show, and WWE did not bring any women at all, during the show they aired one of their in-program video inserts of some of their female talent speaking about how great things are.

Apparent the image of these (mix of married and single) women, heads uncovered, in the video stream was too much.

No, it’s right in your first paragraph; it was the WWE running promos of their female roster on the venue screens during the show (even though the WWE left the ladies back here in the US) that was broadcast by Saudi state TV and that’s what the kerfuffle is about.

In any case, fuck the WWE and Vince McMahon and fuck the Saudi royals.
