40+ years of openly appealing to the bigots, the idiots, and the mouth-breathers will do that to a party. They’ve focused on the South to the exclusion of all other demographic trends and it will bite them in the ass, especially if Texas ever turns blue.

I can see the GOP becoming a regional party.

Southern, White, Evangelical. Diminishing in national influence with every passing election cycle.
