Anyone here familiar with Amos Oz? I’d never heard of him until CriticalDragon posted this Page about Palestinian college students visiting Auschwitz (the WaPo article mentions that the professor who arranged the trip, Mohammed S. Dajani, carries around a book by Oz).

Since I’m in the middle of reading a couple of books about the I-P conflict written in the early ’90s by the investigative journalist Robert Friedman (1, 2, 3, 4), it caught my eye as something I might find useful in terms of increased understanding about the issues.

I found several essays of his (Oz’s) around the web—like Fanatics Attack, which I thoroughly enjoyed—and I read several articles about him as well as reviews of his books, so I ordered a copy of the book the professor was carrying around, How to Cure a Fanatic.

The reason I’m boring all of you with this is because I know Oz is a very famous Israeli author and I’d just like to know if any of you have thoughts on his writings or know of specific things I should be aware of when reading his works.
