For real. Religious right support for the GOP amounts to a tax free political contribution. What we see of this is massive but there is a great deal more that passes beneath public notice, the local sermons and itinerant “guest speakers,” the indoctrination in private schools and home-schooling, the inflammatory political content of church promoted media, etc. I think this is a significant advantage in the political arena, and a wholly unconstitutional one.
