You say they won’t carve out an exception, then immediately after say it would be a “mistake” if they don’t. It doesn’t matter how much of a lead he has going into the convention, if he can’t pull 1,991 delegates together to win outright, then he either has to find them at the convention or he’s not the nominee. Those are the rules he agreed to, same as Biden or Warren or even Gabbard.

I’m not interested in being sold on a Sanders nomination before he’s actually won the nomination. It is way too fucking early in this whole thing to tell me that it’s all over and I need to welcome my new “progressive” overlord.

And then, in that article is this:

But if Sanders wins, partisan Democrats who just want to beat Trump will magically stop finding Sanders superfans annoying — the causes will be aligned, and the vast majority of people who want Trump out of the White House can collaborate in peace.

There is no way I will ever NOT find Nina, Brie, Serota, Sarandon, Shaun King, etc. annoying. (Also, citing National Review to conservasplain how Democrats feel is not a good look, Matty.)
