Still, it’s cool to think that one is still serviceable.

I live near Miramar (everyone in San Diego between I-8 and Hwy 56 lives near Miramar) and love seeing the Blue Angels every year. But, what causes a lump in my throat is hearing that dull rumble of piston engines, looking up, and seeing either a B-24 or B-17 flying over, like some prehistoric bird.

Yep I’d love to see a B-29 there sometime but I don’t know if any of them are still airworthy. I think they were a pain in the ass to maintain when they were new.

According to wiki (take with salt accordingly) all the surviving real Me262s are in museums.
