I had tried to get the new machine to boot from my old Hard drive that had Win 7 on it but apparently when the other machine decided to die out it may have corrupted something in the boot up because my new Machine won’t do it.

I could uninstall Windows 8, format the drive and install Vista then run the upgrade to 7 but at this point I have 8 running and configured the way I want it, I’ve copied over most of the stuff I need from the old drive, now I just need to tweak a few more things and it’ll all be good.

Yeah, my husband has it running on his desktop and is fairly happy with it (had to switch at work and so is fairly used to it) and I admit there are some features that are extremely tempting.

But I hate the start screen with the fiery passion of a billion suns. So.
