I would never defend Rupert Murdoch, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t feel any particular patriotism towards the US, even the sort of fucked up hate-patriotism that FOX news makes. I think he just saw the most gullible set of people in the US, the ones that would be most brand loyal, and made a network to appeal to their basest instincts, much like tabloids do.

Makes what he pushes all the more worse.
