Chances are good wingnuts are not going to change.
So with over half your potential audience not watching, another 30% never going to change because of the show, you may have 5% of the potential audience maybe coming to grips with the issue and thinking about it.
Not a lot to build a national TV show on and a very slim chance to make any kind of a political/social change.
And truthfully there is a big difference in TV shows. I think you need to designate a sitcom versus news, documentary, etc.
One wonders how many right-wingers were influenced by “All in the Family.” While there might have been a few, I suspect the percentage is within the margin-of-error of 0%.
