Northern Minnesota reported a low of -35 degrees F overnight. Current air temperature at the weather station over thataway *points vaguely east* is -18 degrees F, slightly warmer than the -20 degrees F when I first started work.

Uh, oh, they are reporting on the radio that the reason people in New York couldn’t get the number of deaths in nursing homes in that state was because the Cuomo Administration intentionally withheld the numbers.

Cuomo is blaming “a toxic political environment” and when asked by a reporter if he would apologise, he blamed the press and politicians for creating a cynical environment when there was a void of information. Some Democrats and Republicans are calling for his resignation, or stripping of the governor’s emergency powers.

The total number of deaths in New York nursing homes is over 15,000.
