The civil marriage contract is the same no matter who signs it. The marriage licenses should be the same too. They can’t just do some hand waving and pretend that gay marriage is somehow different because there’s a different form to fill out.

I don’t agree with the decision, but if that is what it takes for the present to let gay people marry over the objections of religious bigots, then I am fine with that. I am certain that they will be abolished some day when stupidity ceases to be the accepted norm of political and social discourse.
