My opinion. I think Sullivan got attention by being openly gay and conservative at the same time. Dangerous but more polished than say a Milo type.

Add in his British accent and wordage and he was a good fit for the times. He was an interesting character. So he became ‘important’ to listen too.

Then he got a little full of himself and let his real thinking out and pissed people off. Now, he is bitter.
