I went to I.S. 44 (then) on that block, used to live on 80th, between Columbus and Amsterdam
early-mid 70’s
My uncle taught 8th grade there for years; I still live nearby. You wouldn’t recognize the neighborhood. Partly because of a monstrous Trump development on what used to be the rail yards, also Riverside Park was extended all the way down to 46th St. (Zabar’s is still where it always was; that’s where I got tonight’s dinner).
