Imma just gonna say that it shouldn’t be “Ms. Kendzior” and “Dr. Nilsson-Wright.” Sarah Kendzior holds a Ph.D in anthropology from Washington University. Personally, I’m of the opinion that non-medical doctorates should not be called “doctor”, but if they were going to use “Dr” for Nilsson-Wright, then “Dr” should have been used for Kendzior.

Sorry, this is one of my pet peeves.

I’ll give Anymouse a pass as he was using the names as stated in the article cited. However, the authors should have known better. What I’m unsure of is the driving force behind the error. What is because of the non-medical doctorate, or that she is a woman? I have Ph.D and teach at a university. I get called Miss or Mrs. all the time. I’ve never heard a male colleague addressed as Mr.

And, yes, it’s a pet peeve of mine too.
