I give up. Every goddamned time I buy a stock, something happens that just kicks the legs out from under it. In the last six months, I’ve owned Johnson and Johnson, Abbvie, and Exxon. A week after JNJ purchase, it turns out they’re responsible for killing babies during the Holocaust. Billions of dollars in liability. Abbvie, responsible for killing everyone who wasn’t a baby during the holocaust. Stock dives days after purchase. Yesterday, I bought Exxon. They didn’t kill anybody during the holocaust, but they very much wanted to. Down a buck today. Just fuck it.

The stock market exists to transfer wealth from middle class people with enough money to wealthy people.

It does not exist as an investment except for the very rich.

Note during the Great Depression very few wealthy people actually lost money on the market.
