re: #223 Wendell Zurkowitz ((slave to the waffle light))
I also like to shop that way, but I also want to limit exposure, so I alternate between Aldi and Lidl. Sometimes I go to the Turkish supermarket to get fresh coriander, which can be hard to find around here.
Shopping for us is whatβs seasonal. It costs a lot of money to ship out-of-season produce into the middle of the country.
When local produce comes on the market here after harvest (sweet corn, tomatoes, various vegetables) we tend to buy a lot and can them. There are two butcher shops within twenty miles, so they get the bulk of our meat purchases.
