Makes sense to me. CNN is a left-wing news outfit that always did its best to hide its bias, cultivating a reputation for professionalism. Fox and MSNBC are right-wing and left-wing outlets, respectively, that have never even tried to appear neutral or professional. I think extremism is what appeals these days.
