Tomorrow I am going to start clearing out my storage room and moving everything to a rented storage unit. I will also strip and sweep the floor. The reason for this is that I also use it as a workshop for my hobbies, especially building model airplanes. On my last two attempts to do this, I have dropped critical parts and they have vanished from the face of the Earth. I hear them hit the hardwood floor and bounce, then they either vaporize or disappear into hyperspace. There is a lot of stuff in there and the floors are paint stained and the like. Maybe if I clean it so completely as to pass the white glove test, and examine every bit of trash with a magnifying glass, I will find the missing parts. I might also see if I can invent some sort of spectrographic scanner that will detect and pinpoint regularly shaped bits of plastic. My real suspicion, of course, is that this is some kind of mysterious vortex similar to the Bermuda Triangle or the sock-eater on my washing machine.
