Sadly, I can easily see another OKC-type bombing incident happening in the next few years.

The wingnuts have been whipped into a frenzy of paranoia and fear. I have little doubt that some among them will lash out violently.

I suspect there might be some individualised violence (a single wingnut with a gun, for example), but I am not sure that a large scale wingnut terrorist attack like Oklahoma City would happen.

On the other hand, there was the ridiculous Mahleur verdict. While some of those guys are headed to Nevada to stand trial there, the fact they were acquitted despite their own video evidence is not reassuring.

Back when that started, over at Daily Kos I argued they should be treated like armed insurrectionists. I got shouted down.

I am not big on violence, but what they did could reasonably be construed as “making war on the United States.” My argument over at Kos was essentially an overwhelming show of force was needed, especially after the fiasco at Bunkerville, Nevada.

That force did not come. In the last two armed actions against the government, the wingnuts have won both times.
